Clearing Windows Print Spool |
|
Every once in a while a user will print a job that hangs in the windows print spool and will not cancel or delete. The quickest way I have found to clear the job is to use the command prompt. Issue the following towo commands:
net stop spooler
then
net start spooler
If you still have a problem issue the first command to stop the spool and then navigate to
%systemroot%\system32\spool (usuallyc:\windows\...) and delete the .shd and .spl files you find there, but do not delete the sub-folders.
then start the spool again with
net start spooler. |

Export Filezilla Sites to 3.1.0.X |
|
I upgraded to Filezilla 3.1.0.X on a Win XP SP2 machine and wanted to import my settings from the previous version. I think it should actually be part of the installation script but I guess there must be some issue. Here is what worked for me. I hope it works for you.
After installation of 3.1.0.X use the File / Import point to your 2.X xml seetigs file mine was in C:\Program Files\FileZilla\Filezilla.xml and import it. It gave me a notice about nly importing hst, port, username and password which was all I really wanted. I still have not found the export ad import button referenced in the filezilla faq. If you chose to use the registry to store settings this would not work but from a default install it will. |
